I managed to make sure I had “work commitments” at RAF Laarbruch so I could be on station for both days that 20 Squadron were rehearsing their disbandment flypast, and with a little persuasion I was allowed out onto the airfield centre next to the control caravan. Happy days.

Lovely pics - sadly 4 years before I was posted in when we only had GR7s (and a few Chinooks/Pumas).
I remember that Hunter and our then SL/OPS Sqn Ldr Merv Paine (RIP) writing his piece in the Laarbruch Listener that he was almostly certainly the only person then on the Station who had flown one!
Happy times

Tornadoes in camouflage, with full reheat plugged in, look the absolute business

3 magical years with 'Facta Non Verba' in the late 80s.
Great time over on Gold Sector.
Wonderful memories restored with tremendous images.

Lovely stuff! Far better over at Bruggen in the early 80's until we disbanded in '84 ...........
