Baden-Söllingen back in '91

Hey there,

In 1993 a was on holidays with my parents in the South of Germany. Sure to see some jets I planned the trip to be sure camping in the hood af an airfield, Baden-Söllingen near Baden-Baden wasn't a bad option;-)
Rented a bike at the campsite, drove like a mad dog to the field without a mobile or map, just followed the path they flew and the kerosine smell, thinking I was heading to the right direction of the field. Within 45 minutes a arrived and drove around the field to find a good spot to make photographs, back then I had a Minolta Dynax 7000i with a 100-300mm/5.6 and a 500mm/F8 lens. Thankgod it was'nt so warm that day :thumb:. After visiting the gate at the main entrance I settled myself at the Cabot Trail at the beginning of runway 21, an then the fire started....never seen so much activity and different aircraft at the same day in my whole damn life. F104's, Drakens, F4's, CT33's, CF188'S, C20's, F16's, Alpha Jets. I think the best holiday i've ever had and great memories too.

Hope you enjoy the story and photo's.

Cheers
Reinier
