Fond memories of the ear splitting noise of the Tyne engines one these.

Sorry, that’s a good point - Glasgow in the days when the flying clubs had a key to the gate and an understanding not to wander to far.

My uncle used to fly the Merchantman for Air Bridge, usually G-APES but flew others on the fleet too!

Lovely shot, I was lucky enough to grab a Jump seat on one from EMA - DUB - SNN and Returned SNN-LHR a few days later. Still have the Airbridge Ticket. Happy times indeed.

Great shot, I flew in several BEA Vanguards, but never in G-APEJ. :up:

Great stuff! Some of us 'of a certain age' remember logging G-APEJ in BEA's red square livery at Heathrow in the '60s.
