Hi chaps,
With the current announcement that Dunsfold is due to be built upon, with 1800 houses in the planning to universal disgust, here is a tribute to the airfield and the superb annual Wings and Wheels shows, with good memories from 2 of them in 2008 and 2010. I've tried to include shots with buildings in the background.
A further report from an earlier 1994 pre-W+W show to come.......
2008 first. This was the year I had a duff camera, with a persistent black spot I couldn't get rid of.

Wings and Wheels has always been a great family show (not my son......he was only 3 week's old then, and not present)

And it's a lot more than aircraft too. Other military machines add to the atmosphere

Half of the show is 'on the deck' with vintage cars in the static, and taking part in themed races, usually by manufacturer

With the odd novelty items. Working for Surrey Police, I might be a little baised with this one (vehicle not representative of current fleet)

Great set of pics and couldnt agree more with your sentiments. Will be a travesty if this place gets built on

Certainly gonna put the skates under the VC-10 move? & the '007' 747 can't have a pretty future either!

Re: Dunsfold Tribute 2008/10
Hi again chaps,
Following this recent announcement, and the sad passing of the legend that is John Farley this week, it's probably a good thing that he would now not see his beloved Dunsfold being bulldozed and built over. As their former chief test pilot and site manager, the announcement alone must have been devastating for him.
RIP John, you were a true pioneer and an inspiration to aviation and this country.
