Edinburgh Military Tattoo Flypasts!

Wee addition and some news! I got an e-mail back from Alice Campbell from the Tattoo marketing department,and she stated that the flypasts will continue as programmed! Looks like we will get the 4 ship after all!! Now let's hope for a break in the weather to allow the final one tonight!

Great flypast and had heard him talking to Edinburgh ATC about the run in.Didn't open the taps over the castle,but still looked fantastic despite the dodgy conditions which gave me concerns that it would be cancelled,however the weather cleared enough to allow it to continue and thankfully it did.Sadly I have not seen any more NOTAMs and my other very good source has not heard any more either,so that looks like our lot for the year,can't complain really as I think I can speak for everyone on here that witnessed the flypasts -They were fantastic! So a huge thanks to the Tattoo organisers and the RAF As to those killjoys who would rather we had no fun.... !!

Heads up!!! More Flypasts! One last night which I just managed to catch in time thanks to scanner,"PSYCHO 51" 2 Tonkas and 2 Phoons last night and I hope you did manage to catch it,no idea what is on tonight and possibly Saturday,but eyes to the sky all! Flypast definitely happening tonight 9pm,,be ready! I didn't catch any news that the NOTAMs were up to give us a flypast last night and tonight,so apologies for that!

Nah,that's our lot I'm afraid! "PSYCHO 51" was the last of the flypasts.Good to see though,and at least it rubbed it in the noses of the moaners and the Evening chip paper! So well done the Tattoo organisers and the RAF!

With you on on the point about Killjoys Sir. All blasted lefty,liberal, namby pamby, pinko, long haired, dress wearing, communist, ooh that's toooo loud (unless its a rock concert), pain in the arse, bomb banning, drug taking rotters! They should send 'em all back to wherever they came from.

Thanks to all for their backing! I see it this way,the minority moaners are getting into a pointless strop about military aircraft flying either singly or in formation and using just a few seconds reheat boost to add a little sparkle to an annual event which celebrates the dangerous, hard and stressful work our armed forces have undertaken throughout the years and still continue to undertake.Unfortunately,like most minority whingers and without good reason,they seem to get their own way these days which is a sad state of affairs.Many people come from abroad to see the Tattoo and generally outnumber the locals at the event,it's a wonderful spectacle so why shouldn't the Typhoon or Tornado pilots give it welly over the castle? It's only a few seconds,yes it's loud,but until Rolls Royce come up with completely silent aircraft engines we're stuck with the dramatic symphony of RB199's and EJ200's,Adours and who knows what else we may get in the future! We've had the flypasts for a good long while now,and it's not been an issue before,so why now? Mind you most folk couldn't tell a Typhoon from a 747,they're too busy wondering when they'll get their next fix of soaps or whatever crud is on TV now!

Indeed Stratters old chap, they will be fellow Brits, home growen, but there must be somewhere we can send them all? One of them twittered on one occasion, when one of the flypasts went over, that they thought the Germans were Bombing Edinburgh!.... Honestly, what next would they expect to happen, ration cards issued and Blackouts or something.

FB,If only I could have spoken to that whinger! As for the person who made the Germans remark,give me strength! Some folk really do come out with the most ludicrous things! We could send them to disused oil and gas rigs in the middle of the North sea,occasionaly having a flypast not only to wind them up, but to check and see if their utopia has descended into the chaos similar to that which they have inflicted on what was once an orderly decent country.
