Let me get this straight, are you actually complaining because instead of displaying half the number 100, the 22 Typhoons actually made the whole number? Or was it 'awful, just awful' because the whole RAF inventory was represented, because 3/4 of its operational Lightning fleet took part?

I'm at a loss :dunno:

I think he's saying 'awful, just awful' because he picked the busiest place on the planet to watch the flypast from. :facepalm: :wall:

I saw the flypast today and found it a bit underwhelming. Considering there were 100 aircraft in the sky, I thought they could do a lot more with the formations to make it look more impressive. The Typhoon 100 was OK and the reds are always good value but even the GR4's (with bonus 2) which I'd been looking forward to seeing were disappointing. Couldn't they have swept the wings on the two trailing aircraft? The best bit of formation work I saw was when I got home and put on the news and saw the RAF 100 drill formation by the RAF regiment at Buc palace. All the brass, rank & file at Horse Guards seemed to be having a good time though and I suppose ultimately, it's their party. Oh, and the weather, got home to blue sky but the weather gods insisted on proving how good RAF grey camouflage is. Anyone agree - disagree...?

The best bits will be at RIAT. Wish I'd done the loop today.

Cool, shame I couldn't make it.

What's the big white book? Curious.com.

A sumptuous hardback for £20 with the complete history, mainly lots of stories but worth the extra £10 over the flimsy programme. They also had them in red and blue, were selling them next to the RAFA tent in the Mall today;

I managed to get right by the E end of the memorial roundabout with a clear view down the Mall and beyond (ok it's not anymore) fantastic atmosphere and the sense of anticipation as the lights of each phase approached was electric; much more so than Heathrow 50 in 1996 (when I was standing on a mound which is now T5)

absolutely unmissable! hardly up close and personal and probably not that photogenic but what an occasion, I've been singing the March Past all day!

A big ask I know but does anyone have any of the serials for the aircraft they took part in the RAF 100 flypast yesterday.
Many thanks in advance...

Snap, I opted for Buckingham Palace too ,and after managing to get down the Mall, was a bit miffed to find it all closed off until about 15 mins prior and then it was a case of go where you were forced to, rather than where you wanted to be. To be fair though, I did get a reasonable with a bit of space, but the flypast was directly overhead,rather than a bit to the side so pics not as great as I was hoping for. When I got back home to Suffolk, everyone had posted loads of pics with nice blue skies, so the no-one seemed to have any Typhoon shots of the F35's. Did discover some nice local viewpoints for the next flypast though.

Incredible! Just home. Got right up to Buckingham Palace so close we could see Prince George having fun waving to the crowd from one of the rooms.

Flypast was brilliant. Crowds seemed to be in awe of the BBMF more than anything else, at least from where I was. Well done to the RAF. Quite a show!

Ironically I took the advice and splashed out and went up St Pauls (£18, would have been £16 if I'd bought in advance). Had a look around the Cathedral first (didn't realise so many famous people were buried there), and then ascended to get a good viewpoint. Stood on the Stone Gallery although would maybe have been better off going right to the top - although not much room up there. Great view, seemed to be only a handful of us up there to view it. Had to bite my tongue when someone insisted the E-3 was a Nimrod.

I'd use it again if there were blue skies, the grey cloud of Tuesday has left me with lots of silhouetted pictures (https://flic.kr/s/aHskEiAMPy if you're interested).

Did get home to find the Tucano 9-ship flew over the kids school (Herts) on their way home so at least they got to see some of it :-)
