Can anyone confirm that these were the 4 Italian Typhoons from Coningsby? They were seen East of High Wycombe at 8.30 this morning.?

Reported over on FC forum as 4 Italian AF Typhoons from Coningsby http://fightercontrol.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=43481

Nice sight as they were trailing over Slough and LHR, made a few people stop and stare to see fast jets over LHR

How come this thread appears in Main Aviation Forums and Heads Up at the same time and I only have to add or edit a reply once?

That's what I saw! I assumed it was fighter jets of some sort by the formation but didn't think I would be able to find out exactly what they were.
I saw them at 8:30 over Hertfordshire.

Cheers.

EDIT: When I looked at the contrail, one of the aircraft appeared to have been out of formation for a bit and flying sort of freestyle aerobatics (maybe not, just the way it looked from contrail) for a bit before rejoining the others. Is that quite common in Fighter cruising?

Saw them aswell on my way to school (Same one as Dan380!), they did then all form up again after one of them was quite loose, only ever seen contrailing fighters once before over this area. Just wish I had my camera!

Cheers, Huw
