Grantham Flypast For Polish Exhibition

Local paper is quoting a flypast by 12 aircraft on Friday 3rd over Grantham town centre at 13.10hrs. This is in conjunction with the opening of an exhibition about the Polish airforce at Grantham museum.

BBMF planes quoted but unlikely to be 12.....any clues anyone?

The Dak was down to do a flypast but has gone u/s with an engine oil leak i'm told.There was never going to be 12!

Grantham Journal acting on information supplied by Grantham Museum. Shame they didn't confirm the information with a simple phonecall to the BBMF, as the (mis)information had spread around the town and lots of people were looking forward to it.

Yes, the Dakota was going to do a flyover en-route to Gloucestershire but the scourge of the oil-leak reared its head again.

Even the Queen doesn't get that many BBMF planes at any one time!!

I first highlighted this flypast in the following thread viewtopic.php?f=2&t=45230 earlier in the week and I was involved with helping to handle the media yesterday in Grantham; let’s just say there was some over-zealous reporting!

I was also personally involved in trying to advise the waiting public that the flypast had been cancelled – sadly there were a lot of local experts who though that they knew better and they were telling people several ‘different’ stories!

As always any BBMF related flypasts are serviceability and weather dependant.
