seen flying over portsmouth around 1510 what looked like a grey tristar flying towards IOW not very high any one else see this ?

what was it for ?

Ascot 824 was up from Brize at that time, and went on a test/check flight I presume... happy to be corrected though.

It's not doing circuit's around the Isle of Wight right now is it? (20:45 29-1-09)
Something heavy has been flying round for the past hour.

It's still flying round now!! Must be due back to base soon.........if of course it is the Tristar?

Flew over Portsmouth at approx 11pm Thursday night...cloudy so couldn't see but could certainly hear it...came from the south east heading north west which would put it on a direct course to Brize....a very rare occurence in these parts...more is the pity.....I wonder if it had anything to do with HMS Daring in the Dockyard ??
