Just seen and heard a magnificent Wessex flying
Just seen for the first time in many many years a Westland Wessex in camouflage colours flying out from Biggin Hill.

Wow! i know there was/is a few of them based with someone there,would love to have seen a photo,and know more about this.

Is it a Wessex or was it the S-58 that was over here (from Germany?) a while back?

Definitely a Wessex. Wasn't Camo but grey with Red nose and tail. Reg 9G-. It flew one circuit at Biggin around midday.

9G-AEE is also there, red in colour, 9G-BOB is the yellow one with african gateway titles unless its been painted.

That would make sense could see nose was red, was a way off when saw it.I was in the garden and heard it awhile before seeing it. Was is a first flight after restoration?

I remember a few years back seeing one on static at biggin that looked gorgeous ,i believe it was red and blue?
