VC-10 looking aircraft over Arnold, Nottingham

Post by A380Heavy »

Just had a plane fly over in roughly a North to South direction (at approx 16.30), it had a T-tail, was fairly large - looked bigger than your average biz jet. I immediately looked on FR24 and it wasn't on there?

Can anybody shed any light on this please?

Thanks,

Steve

Doesn't the title of the post give it away Chris?

Dammit, that'll serve me right for not reading the full title! There's a "Location" field in your profile for a reason folks :P

G-RJXK arrived East Midlands a few minutes ago? Nothing else jumping out at me at some of the lower levels.

My first thought was a 727 as well but nothing really to go on.

Bombardier Global aircraft frequently fly over Duxford and at height can easily pass for a VC-10 in outline, but with two engines  .

Definitely not a 727 or an Embraer, possibly a Global Express/Sentinel - I was directly beneath it as it flew over so couldn't see any lumps and bumps to identify it as a Sentinel. The fact it wasn't on FR24 might suggest it was a military aircraft.
