FA-18's to Lakenheath this evening

Post by Beefy »

Surprised not to see any info on here but I assume everyone is aware of it from another forum?

They should be on the ground by now but I do believe that 2 flights of F/A-18s using Mazda callsigns landed at LN this evening with support KC-10s in to Mildenhall.

I was a little premature! 6 aircraft are on their way from Sigonella, the other flight of 6 are still on the deck. USMC jets from what I understand.

They are from the Marine Corps, VMFA-314 I believe....

As said 6 due in the next 15-20mins, second 6 rooted at Sigonella.

I assume wave 2 will push for a transit tomorrow?

Another 6 arrived this evening.

Rumour is of a mid morning/afternoon departure tomorrow.
