C130 into Edinburgh

Post by Alanko »

I was on the roof of Ocean Terminal looking at the ships in the port today. A C130 flew past at around 14:30, and apparently landed at Edinburgh. It might have been on FR24, but the person I asked lives out there, so might have just eyeballed it. Any ideas as to why it was here?

My guess would be that it's something to do with the Tattoo?

I thought I saw a C130 on Saturday afternoon! I was heading to Seafield around that time and saw it on the glidepath, thanks for confirming what I saw! Annoyed I didn't capture it as I was driving at the time  :wall: :dizzy:

I see a lot of traffic into Edinburgh, so I was waiting for it to morph into a Dash 8 or something. Quite a turn up, and a lovely view of it from the top of Ocean Terminal!

I'm not sure it was linked to the Tattoo, as I didn't think there was a flypast on Saturday.

Not for a flypast, more likely to pick up people or equipment involved with the Tattoo as it ran from 7th - 29th August.

It was probably ZH877 that was crew training on Saturday, it landed at Aberdeen at 15.07 on Saturday and departed at around 11.20 on Sunday.

Cracking shot of the AN12, that graced Prestwick, on that link as well.

I'm not sure, it could be either.

I'd put my money on it being the same one that was seen on the Edinburgh approach shortly before though !
