VERY low Turboprop ~22h30 Stotfold / Baldock Area?

Post by Bill16STN »

I don't know if anyone else either heard this or could shed any light on this ...

Thursday night (04.08.2016) at around 22h30 a turboprop powered aeroplane flew West to East on a line bisecting Stotfold & Baldock.
I didn't see it but it did sound VERY low! I couldn't honestly say whether it was single or twin engined.

My immediate thoughts were a Tucano? I've seen or heard no reports anywhere else apart from all the neighbours.

This is the only thing remotely close on FR24: https://www.flightradar24.com/2016-08-0 ... 11/a9141bd

I really wouldn't expect to see anything military at low level quite that close to a major airport, to be honest!

I'd almost lay money that wasn't it.
I think that you'd be quite surprised at what we get over here at low"ish" level!
