OK a "Source" in the locality of Fairford tells me the local rumour is that an X-37 will be landing tommorrow due to the problems in Florida. Now this could be utter and absolute rubbish and it could well be that my "source" will rival Dohs Vulcan Sources in having produced high quality drivel.

Dont shoot or ridicule the messenger.

Anything's possible, as I think Fairford's still on the list of alternates.

Even if it's not true, I feel sorry for the locals.......once the spotter community pick up on it you're likely to have everybody, their dog & their granny descending on the area on the off-chance.

I read yesterday that the rumour was it was coming in today

It only launched on Wednesday, and last time stayed up for two years, but I guess you never know. Would be a great photo

If there would be problems where to land it, I would guess Edwards is a lot higher up the list for taking it than Fairford.

Keep missing the callsign, but going by the distinctive tone on the radio there's a B-52 up somewhere over the South Wales-Devon area

From the airspace reservation NOTAM posted on Milscanners, I presume this is for the much-rumoured arrival of more B-52s

The one I posted about on 12th was the usual SCALP 99 callsign.
I presume the MYTEE callsign is in reference to the new deployment which are apparently inbound today.

Edited to add....
Post on Milscanners confirms -- flight of 3 ( MYTEE callsigns ) due in between 11:30-12:30hrs today.

On 283.05.....didn't catch callsign, but just heard someone American reporting "heading East in the green" ( and for some strange reason, this was followed by a loud shout of what sounded like "zoop !" :dizzy: )

Missed the callsign, but didn't sound like a B-52 ( so possibly a U-2 ? ) just calling looking for the ILS for full-stop at Fairford.
