A convocation of Eagles meet a friend.

Post by Sid-104 »

Lovely sight this morning over Downham Market, Norfolk as a KC-10 wheeled over my workplace (quite low too) with eight F-15 (a nice tight 4x4 formation) turning in to form up behind. The group headed off southbound, I'm thinking they may have been Saudi Eagles on a delivery flight. Could anyone confirm if my assumption was correct?

I understand that 8 Lakenheath based Eagles departed on a depolyment fairly early this morning.

In addition, later this morning 6x MO coded F-15's arrived at Lakenheath n a stopover from the East, but I would guess from the number quoted it was the local lot.

Looking on FC, there was a flight of Lakenheath based jets that were off on deployment with a KC-10.

Correct, I was there as the 8 F-15s took off at around 10am this morning. Then I saw them return twice high above the base, the second time behind the tanker. Unfortunately the fire extinguishers went away and that was the last F-15 launch for the day.
I don't know everything there is to know about our hobby.

Kids, aviation, missus then responsibilities, (in that order)

First guess was right, then......t'was a quick scan through a couple of E-mails about 9 hours earlier.
