Flypast at Yeovilton today

Post by Mike Dodd »

Driving a couple of miles away from Yeovilton this morning saw a formation comprising Swordfish, 3x Wildcat, Sea King Asc7, 3x Merlin and fourth Wildcat that appeared to be acting as photoship. Anyone know what was being celebrated or commemorated?

Possible re-hersal for tomorrow - though I'd have thought the weather too iffy for the Swordfish.

yes it is rehearsal for one of the two flypasts tomorrow for the QE commissioning. Notam says 1140 to 1220. Weather forecast is not great, agree Swordfish very unlikely.

Fleet Air Arm Museum is celebrating the commissioning of the Royal Navy’s newest aircraft carrier by opening its doors for FREE for one-day only on Thursday 7th December.
