A-10s to Mildenhall

Postby LN Strike Eagle on Wed 30 May 2018, 9:04 am

Seen it reported on FC that 8x Michigan A-10s are due for a stop at Mildenhall tomorrow (31st). Usual caveats apply.

Is it an exercise or a deployment they're crossing for?

Are 2 of them air-spares for the Atlantic crossing, Gary?

Anthony didn't say in his post, but it's likely two will be airspares

Thunderstorms due this afternoon/evening.

They're TABOR call signs so I guess this is a six-month deployment. Hope for better weather when they stop off to go home.

Six months!? I guess we're all thinking the same thing then... starts with R and ends with IAT...

Dan, Tabor is just a Coronet call sign, used when the the tanker uses Clean call sign. I wouldn't read too much into it, for the duration of their stay

9 of the 10 jet which arrived at Bangor were

78-0641
81-0996
80-0258
81-0975
81-0998
81-0994 (special)
80-0163
80-0196
80-0184

I believe it's only a quick stop at Mildenhall on their way somewhere else.

CLEAN 81 (KC10A 85-0030) is now showing on ADS-B Exchange heading East, about 150 miles West of Glasgow, it should be with 4 A10s.

Still showing as being on the ground, now doing 323Kts ( guess water resistance caused it to slow by 6Kts. )

CLEAN 82 should be behind it, not showing yet.

Presume REACH 382 ( on finals to Mildenhall ) was the accompanying C-17.
