Foreign Service GB-Su-27 Flanker

Post by A40-BP »

My first entry for this GB will be the ICM SU-27 Flanker. I have started assembly, with the cockpit now in one piece, however as has been said with the reviews with this kit, you dont get anything for the 'pit, only a blank panel and a small control column. I have ordered a brass set to liven this up a bit, thinking Kazakhstan Air Force for the livery, but those Indonesian one's do look good! Piccies to follow.

Small update for now, just a shot of the 'pit before it was painted.

Since then, the fuselage is together, ballast added and the cockpit finished. I must say the fit of this kit isnt brilliant!

Wings now added, along with 90% of my supplies of filler. Next step tail planes and horizontal stablisers.

After a rediculous amount of work on the tail fins and tail plane assembly, its more or less complete now bar the undercarriage and weapons. Having played with this and my Libyan Chinook all day, its now at a point where im enjoying the build at last! Next step should be the priming, before the many coats of paint!

Piccies to come once i get the chance to upload them!

In the words of Freddie Mercury, 'this is what you wanted, this is what you'll get!'

Note to copious amounts of filler! Also the rocket pods are detatchable for now, as the plan is to have interchangable weapons on the wing pylons. Work will slow down over the next week as i need to source an SU-34 kit to get the inner pylons as i have yet to find an SU-27 which contains them! I have the Zvezda, Hasegawa, ICM and both Revell kits(one being the Hasegawa) and not one has them!

More to follow.
