Mosquito GB 1/1/12 - 31/3/12

Post by ianf »

I just had a look at what was the next round of GB and realised I'm hosting one of them! I was amazed it had come around so soon. Please put down on this thread if your going to enter. Also what your going to build to help others not overlap. The mossie has been well served by the kit manafacturers especially in recent years, so the potential for a variety of versions is good.

The rules are very simple.
Any scale
all versions or schemes allowed.
Kits to be unstarted from now (allowing for pre painting etc to begin from now)

I shall kick the ball off and tell you my kit, its actually for a friend of mine, who asked me to build it for him as he's busy building a full scale one!I will be building Airfix's masterpiece 1/24th scale kit and I am building the NFII variant. I will be building a replica of my friend's aircraft based at Elvington, so no pressure there  I'm building a kit for a guy who knows his mossies inside out! The up side for me is I can get reference material quite easily.

So its over to you guys.

Hi FTS thats a cracking kit to build you will enjoy it, and I can't wait to see the result. Geoff hope you can join us but I see your hosting the other GB so I see your problem. I actually looked in my stash to see what I could build in your GB and was astonished to find I have no USAF aircraft in my stash  So depending on the mossie build I may have to buy something.

As this is my favourite prop aircraft, I will be joing this GB, probably with the 1:72 Airfix kit.

This GB is now closed, however 3 of the builds are not yet complete due to various reasons. So after speaking with the other 2 folk we are going to complete our builds as if the time wasn't over. It's fair that no one has to rush the build and we deserve to complete them.
