Tiger Meet GB - Fiat G.91 ++FINISHED++

Post by Deacon »

I like to have a couple of kits on the go so that I can be sticking stuff together on one whilst the other is drying.

So, with the D0 17 finished, I thought I would haul this one out of the loft.

This is the 1:72 Revell kit, moulded in YELLOW plastic...........

Image

I've already noted some comments on the internet about various things wrong with the kit, but thankfully nothing
too hard to correct.

This will possibly be my earliest Tiger Meet build as this a/c was at the 1987 event.

Cheers

Alan

Looking forward to seeing this one. I've had it in my stash for years and not got around to doing it yet!

Thanks Matt.

Just an update shot................

the white primer needs another coat as the yellow is showing through, then I can
concentrate on trying to get the orange right.

If you are doing the '87 Montijo aircraft it was yellow, certainly more yellow than the later schemes which were more of an orange/yellow. It was also gloss whereas the later ones were matt. I've got umpteen slides to confirm

Thanks mate.

I think the one you are referring to was a/c 5645 which was yellow whereas this kit is a/c 5452.

The mouth decal is different on 5645.

5452 was the 1991 aircraft! As you'd quoted NTM '87 just wanted to make sure

This is interesting mate as the kit instructions give the date as 1987!

It's not the first time that I have come across a manufacturer getting a date wrong. I found on another forum
that Hobby Boss have a paint scheme for a Raphale B as 2006, when it should be 2008!

Thanks Dollar

I did my one in orange, the yellow plastic was a horrible to cover. Nice model though.

Blimey that was a quick turn around :hypno: , and a Flat coat will help soften the Orange.

The mojo is well and truly back. :yahoo: (Much to the wife's chagrin).

I should be building stuff for GB's elsewhere, but I have to be honest, I'm enjoying this GB too much.

Thanks guys for your encouragement.

Thanks mate.

My favourite bit was colouring in the top of the nose to match the real thing. I was well chuffed with the colour.
