Re: Big scale GB - Trumpeter F-100D Super Sabre
Thanks all for the kind comments.
I just have the AIM-9B's to finish and the outer pylons, then it should be completed this weekend.
I must say I have loved building this one, and will be sad to see it go to its new owner once he collects it.
I have something good in store next so watch this space!

Re: Big scale GB - Trumpeter F-100D Super Sabre - Complete
final update:
The project has now come to an end; I must say I have really enjoyed buulding this one, but the F-100D is such a lovely looking Cold War jet. I might build another soon in SEA scheme.
The Kit:
1/32 Scale Trumpeter F-100D Super Sabre
Aires Cockpit
Aires Burner Can Set
Metal Master Pitot Tube
Zacto Nose Correction kit (inc engine blank)
Mk82's from the spare box (hence why no yellow demarkation)
on with the photos:

Cheers Alan,
Really enjoyed this one. Its new owner will come collect it Friday, and he is over the moon with it!
Got a couple of things to finish off for mags and then I was thinking about a frontline RAF aircraft in 32nd scale now. Torn between a full on 32nd scale Typhoon (all resin parts) or a Tornado... hmm choices.

Yes and no Daz.
To me seeing the look on the people who I build for when they see it for the first time is worth it. They just light up and for me that is worth a lot. To be honest I was sad about getting shot of the MIG-23 I built last year, that was a lovely kit to build. It is also nice to make a bit of beer money as well, plus they do not get destroyed in my house!
That said, I know we both love to build (I have seen some of your threads and you are really improving lately so keep it up) so the thought of giving something up you have worked a lot of hours on isnt great. Now if it were a GR1 9 Squardon wrap around Grey/Green camoflague Torndao, you would have to rip it from my cold dead hands!
Thanks for the kinds comments on this thread and I look forward to seeing more from you whenever you can soon

Re: Big scale GB - Trumpeter F-100D Super Sabre
I know what you mean James. As you may have seen elsewhere I'm building a target right about now. And for the next few builds. Then I'm hoping to build a 1/32 He-162. It was going to be an F-14, but will take too long. I'm also researching to do a 1/32 Lynx HMA.8 some time too! And I also think my builds are improving with each one I do too! And I can understand about a 9 Sqdn Aircraft. If it was any other RAF Squadron I'd have no qualms about getting rid.

Forgive my ignorance mate, but you are an advocate of pastels. Any of them
used on this? I'm thinking not, but you could have blended them in so well that
what I think is misted paint is infact pastels!

Alan,
I was supposed to use them on this model but have opted for the shading route.
The issue I have with pastels on this occasion is that the surface is very smooth and even if I
Did use them, they have nothing to adhere too. I could have put a Matt coat on the model but it would have lost its sheen.
Hope that helps a little.

Thanks guys.
I ordered some rbf (remove before flight) tags today. Once they arrive I will add them and that will be finished!
Thank you to everyone who has followed, viewed and commented on this thread. I hope you have enjoyed it progress as I have building it.
