BIG SCALE GB 1/32 Ju-87B Stuka
BIG SCALE GB 1/32 Ju-87B Stuka
I picked this up for the bargain price of £6 !
I figure there is still time to get it in for the Big Scale group build.
Just the box contents for now, hopefully getting into it during the week.
(I am planning to build the France 1940 version)

Not great pics with the iPad, it looks better in the flesh, I will get close ups as it progresses with the camera.
I just added some brown foam to the seats.
I will prime it, mask it up and attempt an under fuselage coat later this week.

Re: BIG SCALE GB 1/32 Ju-87B Stuka
Looking great - lovely choice as well but surely you've gotta do the one with the big snake on the side!!
Re: BIG SCALE GB 1/32 Ju-87B Stuka
I considered it but just don't like the look of it plus I reckon I'd need an airbrush for a truly tropical scheme!
Cheers all

nice model of the stuka i remember in the early 70,s revell ,s 1/ 32 stuka was quite a good kit for it's day . it first appear in battle of britain markings , then in desert markings wiyh the big red and white snake markings . if you watch world at war series the desert campaign the opening shot shows said stuka with two other stuka s opening the first attacks on british forces . anyhow a nice model

"Walls of Jericho" Siren, as the aircraft dived vertically, the speed of the air rushing past would spin the prop on the siren, making that familiar scream as the Stuka dives in for an attack.....

Amazing skills, I bow down again as I do to all your modellers - brilliant!
One thing I noticed from the first shots to the last is that you had to source your own swastikas by the looks of things - I remember from the days in the 80's when I made models with my Grandad that the German kits never came with them - this has changed now I know - anyone know when it was decided OK to put them back in the kits again? It always seemed odd to me, even as a child, as if leaving out one tiny decal was going to somehow erase history! I presume it was done because the symbol was (and is of course) still used by Fascist groups?
Maybe modellers got round the problem in the 1980's by using Finnish kits - did they still include the swastikas?

Buy the sky and sell the sky and lift your arms up to the sky and ask the sky"
Re: BIG SCALE GB 1/32 Ju-87B Stuka
Thanks all, this kit came with a split swastika decal, the two sections provided for each tail side would make it up in full.
It was not referred to on the painting instructions though and I had some aftermarkets to use up in any case (available from xtradecal)
It's certainly a controversial thing to include but I've done so in the spirit of authenticity.
I hope nobody is offended by their inclusion.
