Cold War GB - De Havilland Vampire FB.5 +++FINISHED+++

Post by Deacon »

Here is my first build for this GB and I hope to do many!

Revell's 1:72 kit which I will make up as a 112 Sqn aircraft.

The nice thing about this GB is that I have so many aircraft missing from my collection which fall in this category so it's a great excuse to get on with them.

Cheers

Alan

Right. This is where the build was at on Monday....

Image

Today I had a bit of a disaster with the undercarriage legs, which means that this will be a pilot less flying build (I mean it's going on a stand not been thrown at Mach 1 at the wall )

The decals are a bit on the thin side too and the camo could be seen through them. So I replaced the upper wing roundels.

So, here she is, looking perhaps a bit too clean, but I intend replacing her at some stage with the Airfix kit.

Cheers

I would like to say, another one bites the dust, but that seems a bit negative for such a good finish!

What happened with the undercart?

It just snapped mate as I was cutting it from the sprue. Both legs seemed to have thin section that wasn't really apparent until after the event!
