Decals are on. They're a mix from an aftermarket set (which annoyingly is incomplete and only has some of the numbers and some WS's), Italleri stars & bars and the Marines on the underside with the rest from the Hobbyboss kit. I had to make the 11's on the doors and upper right wing from 2 sets of decals that had 18's.

The overall effect is great mate, the weathered look and the nose art.

As you know, I'am a fan of the Hobby Boss 1:72 range, and
although you've spent more time and effort
on yours, these types of kits are just great if you want to
create loads just to show off various 'nose arts' that a particular
type of aircraft carried.

Initially they were good value, but I think the likes of Airfix
and Revelll are now priced very similar, although the ease
of construction of the Hobby Boss means more can be produced
in a short time.

Amazing technique being used on this build! I have never heard of using hairspray and now that I have.... I have to find a kit that I can try it on. The only problem being Mrs. Fumbs saying "Oh great another one"

The two kits are look excellent. Well done.

I've been doing little bits on this here and there throughout the week. I'm not too far off now, just the ordnance, gear, exhaust stains and prop and then she's done. I've never used oil paints before on a model and I have to say I love them! So unbelievably simple and you get some great results. I'm hooked!
