This will be a build of the 1/72 Italeri AU-1 Corsair which can also be built as an F4U-7 with the French, one to be built in the future.

Re: Naval Aviation GB - 1/72 AU-1 Corsair
Well this one has fought me a lot today. I'd hoped to have been at least filling the 4 this evening but so far i've only got the one done so i'm now well behind schedule. The fit of these Italeri kits isn't brilliant, particularly at the wing joint under the fuselage.

This one is now ready for spraying but the rest need to catch up first.

Well done mate, you've done well with that.
Re: Naval Aviation GB - 1/72 AU-1 Corsair *Nearly Finsihed*
This one just needs stores adding and it's done. Annoyingly I can't seem to find any door numbers in the kit, if i've cut them off then something must have eaten them!

You seem to have the weathering nailed for these birds mate.

This time I tired something new and instead of giving them an oil wash gave them a dusting with Nato Black. This toned down the decals and help blend in the exhaust stains. It's worked well on the French one as those yellow decals were far too bright. This is similar to weathering on steam locos.
