Nimrod thread.
Re: Nimrod thread.
I'll chip in with this, which was taken over the fence a couple of days before the (fairly literal from what I remember of the dismantling methods) axe fell. Having grown up in the 80's and gone to school literally under the approach path to Woodford I had huge fondness for these planes (especially fond memories of the AEW) .
ZJ516 and 518 I think they were.

Re: Nimrod thread.
For us, spotters, Nimrods were welcome guests at Valkenburg (Holland). The locals weren't that enthusiastic because of the noise.
The last Nimrod at Valkenburg, arriving for the last open day before base closure.
And one at Fairford.

Don't say something crass, to hide your envy. Just give credit, when its applicable...

Re: Nimrod thread.
A different view of XV232, on 27th October 2008. Myself and Tom were two of four lucky cadets on a PAX flight from RAF Kinloss, and the best part was that on the "Vomit Comet" the 2 cadets from Sunderland were ill, and myself and Tom were not! Bring on fast jets!
Crap quality as this was before I got a DSLR, what I would give to have this flight again with a DSLR, but we all know that is never going to happen.
Jack.

Re: Nimrod thread.
This was taken I think at Farnborough 1980. A slightly more unusual Nimrod.
