My Lord, seeing these shots of the F3's really shows, that it is a fantastic Aircraft to photograph. My gosh, they're all good images. Nice angles, that have a lot action in them. Shame to see them go, but these shots really show why we love the former defender of our skies, the Tornado F3. Memories shall live on. Cheers for the images guys, and keep them coming!

All taken at Leuchars over the past couple of years. You know you're getting a bit older when you see a type come in and then out of service!

Mike, the Diamond 9 shot is brilliant. What a great show 2006 was!

Can't compete with some of the others but here are some of my efforts - I have been extremely lucky to have some very special memories shared with this jet! I REALLY hope she is sent off in the style that she deserves - I have met many great people through this jet! Thank you for some GREAT times!

Marky's climbing F3 shot still gets a "wow" every time! Excellent shots throughout this thread so far, though: a worthy tribute.

Geoff - love the F3/Eddie Coventry Spit duo. Finningley 93?

The formation was taken from slightly south of the border, from the heart of the Essex countryside on the run in to Buckingham palace in 2008. I did take a similar shot at Leuchars in 2006 but the sun was behind the nine aircraft.

For old times sake, some more of "that" Tornado F3 display at Leuchars Airshow 2004, where a combination of high speed and atmospheric conditions created an incredible effect :

The callsign "Phoenix" was most apt :

The only time the F3 display was flown as a two-ship......

No way she should be going out without a bang!! A few from a long way south plus one from the 2005 display season:

Here's hoping Leuchars do the right thing and give her a great send off.

I'm really sad  I really am going to miss the Tornado F.3 when it leaves service, seeing them at Leuchars over the Years I actually loved watching them streak to the heavens, lovely plane, I love the F.3 and the GR.4 equally for me the Tornado is the plane of the decade. Really also looking forward to the Typhoon if they allow it to happen.
