Came across these 2 beauties whilst at my folks house at the weekend...distant memories of a former life and 35mm cameras!!!

My lasting regret is that I didn't take more photos when all I was doing was playing with Phantoms all day.

The last time I saw (proper) operational USAF F-4's with 10 57thWG/561stFS jets staging through the Heath, I think the first 5 departed just before sun up, the second five just after, crap quality but a wonderful sight all the same

Interesting this photo, I thought that I recognized the serial so checked up on it. It turns out that this a/c went to the Egyptian AF as 7806. Are you sure the date is correct and it wasn't taken in 1992? Reason for asking is that the EAF Phantoms were delivered in the SEA camo scheme in 1979, they then adopted the Egypt One 2 tone Grey scheme a couple of year later. As far as am aware they didn't adopt the Hill Grey scheme until the late 80's early 90's

For Scotthldr, Yes these F-4's where shot October 1982 at Moody. Didn't see the crew, but did understand that they where on a deliveryflight. Don't know if this was from or to Hill. (Saw them arrive early in the morning when we where still outside the base) Here the other one

Excellent stuff Pieter, 670309 is another Egyptian a/c, judging by the cleaniness of the a/c I would suspect that they were on delivery to Egypt, after overhaul.

Bit more info on these 2 a/c. Both 670309 and 670317 were delivered to the Egyptian AF in 1980 as F4E-35-MC's(what ever that means)

The only US NAVY Phantom I ever saw in Europe was this F-4J 155761/AA202 at the 1979 Ramstein openhouse
