Some very old scans of a pair of C-130Ks, closely followed by a DC-130 and an LC-130

Hi All
Many thanks for all your great pictures from an old Herc driver. Here are a couple of rubbish scans
from my past. I take no credit for either-My nav took the first one while I was trying to avoid camels.
It was my camera though so I do have the original. I was sat in the right seat of the second looking
for whip aerials to avoid. It was taken by a friend on Saunders Island who I'm sure won't mind me sharing it with you.
First attempt at posting so apologies if I screw it up.(highly likely)

Dave, those are fantastic, a great bit of RAF Hercules history, distinct lack of Hercs in the skies over Wiltshire at the moment.

Hi Tony

of Herc snaps-just need a decent scanner now to 'digitise' them and I'll post them-if anyone has any ideas of a good simple scanner
Please pm me ! I'll have a dig in the pc tonight ad see if I can post some more
Cheers
Dave

There's a lot of very nice shots in this thread, but Dave, those ones of yours are very special, especially the first shot in the second batch, and all the Desert Storm shots. Thanks for taking the time to scan them, fascinating, would love to see more.

Cheers,
Paul

Hi Dave,
I am pretty sure I am on board that aircraft as I have a corresponding picture taken looking back the other way.
Remember Incirlik, Diyabakir, and I think the airfield we were going to here was Circenk(sp?), Saddams winter Palace.
Unfortunately lost most of my photos from those days over the years but if I find any I will try and scan them in.
Great memories

I think it was Sircenk? That was a sporty place to op Herks out of. The acft were at their limits IIRC. I remember seeing them drop off the end of the runway and 'dip' into the valley and then gradually climb their way up. I got a trip ex AKT to Sircenk to catch a Wokka back to Silopi (the heli base) - happy days.

Diyabakir was allright as well if you liked air to ground ranges! Two oldies from me..
