I am attending the Chino Airshow over the weekend of 14-15 May 11 and was wondering if anyone could offer any advice.
I am looking for the best places to be during the airshow for photography and any other tips anyone can give me.
Regards
Steve

Re: Chino Airshow 14-15 May 11
I'd suggest far left or far right of the crowdline for photography. The only other advice I can give is that it can be very, very hot, so plan to bring sunscreen, hat, water, etc.

Re: Chino Airshow 14-15 May 11
I found it quite easy to get a good view of the flying, less so of the runway.
Vital equipment: sun protection, folding chair, plenty to drink, long lens.
My snaps from last year at http://s157.photobucket.com/albums/t50/ ... ?start=all
I expect to be flying in again and parked by Hangar K6 with the RVs and Rockets on Saturday.
Its worth a walk round the hangars. Many will be opened up with some rare machinery on show.

Guys,
Thanks for the advice and tips.
Mike,
Love the photographs, and let's hope the weather will be good what you flying in, I will try and look out for you. Also is there much in the line of visiting aircraft that gets there. I am looking forward to looking around the hangers.
Do many spectators go? See you there hopefully

Re: Chino Airshow 14-15 May 11
Iskra750,
If that last question was for me. I'll be flying an RV-4 from Hawthorne (marine layer permitting) on Saturday. There'll be an informal Vans RV gathering outside Hangar K6 at the eastern end.
They'll be parking some vintage and warbird visitors near the spectators, but most other visiting aircraft will be on the transient parking ramp, west of the control tower. Cut off for arrivals, before they close the runways for the show, is 10.30am.
Lots of spectators, but theres plenty of room to find yourself a good viewing spot.

Re: Chino Airshow 14-15 May 11
Glad you liked the shot. Photo platform (for the third year in succession) was Jeff Pearson's Cessna 195. It's shaping up to be another great Chino show, with lots of Grumman 'big iron' in attendance. The TA-4 Skyhawk arrived today, looking forward to seeing it fly at the weekend.
