US Airshows 2015 advice needed.

Post by Paul_Reflex »

Hi all
I'm thinking about attending an air show in the United States next year for the first time and I wondered if anyone had any recommendations about which would be best in terms of likely participation and ease of access.

I'm thinking of later in the year and I noticed that many of the USN/USMC bases such as Oceana, Point Mogu, Miramar and Pensacola have shows at this time. These sound good as I'd like to see the Blue Angels, so I'don't be really grateful if anyone had any experience of these shows.

Thanks

Paul

Speaking personally I would try and work around Miramar as Oceana was a bit dissapointing this year.
Hope this helps.

The only downside I have for Miramar is that you tend to be shooting into the sun....

I have never been to Pensacola but i hear the Navy museum is excellent there...

Next year's Thunder over Michigan is looking promising already... Blue Angels, Mosquito, FW-190 and B-29 already confirmed!

Only problem is that you shoot into the sun for much of the afternoon, my review from 2012 is here; http://www.airshows.co.uk/reports/overs ... -michigan/

Thanks Peter, great review! I'll give michigan some serious thought, the B-29 would be great to see.

Cheers
