Does anyone know if the Iran Airshow was scrapped after the crash at last year's event? There's a strong chance that I'll be in Iran when the show is on at the end of October. I shall be emailing the Iranian Embassy and several Iranians from Airliners.net over the next few days, so I'll know what will and won't end up with Mr Ahmedinejad's finest playing ping pong with my ding dongs. I shall not be frequenting any IRIAF bases in the country.

Hi Martin,

I think you'll find no airshow this year, it's every other year normally.

The best guy to contact is Shary from the Iranian spotters group. I wouldn't bother with the Embassy, Shary knows the places to go or sites to see.
