BBMF @ Southampton Airport - 17.08.12

The BBMF Lancaster & Spitfire are operating out of Southampton Airport for a couple of days and as its my local airport popped over and took a few shots this evening. They are seen here departing and returning from a flypast over White Waltham.

Lovely shots...

It says on the BBMF website she's off to Fareham before coming back to Southampton. Does anyone know what this is for? I can't find anything ! Thanks K

She kept it really low over Fareham at 1300 today. I took a gamble that she'd come along the harbour as the NOTAM was issued for Fleetlands and popped down to the Jolly Roger. A gamble that didn't pay off, but interesting to see from a distance low over the civic centre, even from that distance!!

No idea why she was over there though.

Had a great view of the Lanc from my garden a couple of days ago. I tried to see why she was here by looking at the breakdown of the BoBMF fying programme on their website, but only May 2012 works. Nothing for June, July or August. Been like that a while now.

Thanks for your comments. They were shot from the car park through a wire fence which made it a bit awkward, especially trying to pan! Pity the sun went behind the cloud after the Lanc taxied out as she would of looked even better in the evening sunshine.

She did a flypast at a summer fair near Fareha m College in place of the Spitfire and Hurricane who were to suppose to fly. Because of the hit and miss weather the other day, their schedules have been rearranged slightly. She's flying out of Southampton tomorrow, but I have no idea when......anybody else know?

which doesn't list the departure time for Sunday but probably be anytime between 12:00 & 13:00 but don't quote me on that!

That's what I was thinking until I went onto the website of the show she's displaying at and it says her display time is 2pm.....could it be that she's LEAVING Southampton at 13.20pm?

Possibly, but this website has the BBMF down for 1.45pm http://dig-for-victory.com/

It's all so confusing! Their Tweeter isn't tweeting at the mo either. Not sure what to do!
