Tyabb 2018 airshow.

Postby GeorgeP on Tue 13 Mar 2018, 8:27 am

G'day all,

my last airshow prior to Tyabb was the 2017 Duxford Flying Legends show that I attended last July. Whilst Tyabb is not in the same league as Legends, the crew at the Peninsula Aero Club always put on a fab show and raise much-needed funds for a number of local charities. The star performer (at least for me) was the recently-restored CAC-built Mustang, VH-URZ, rumoured to be up for sale and likely head to the U.S. of A. A nice range of aircraft participated which included: Mustang x 2, Avenger, Kittyhawk, Spitfire, Trojan x 2, Snipe, Pup x 2, Stearman, Tiger Moth x 3, Hudson, Bird Dog x 2, Boomerang, Harvard x 4, Wirraway plus a couple of defense aircraft in the form of a PC-9 and a Seahawk helicopter. Light direction is always a problem at this airfield because the crowd line is located east of the 17/35 runway. Anyhow, enough waffle from me. Thanks for viewing and I'm always happy to receive constructive critique.

Some great sights there, its nice to see something from the other side of the world. I love that last one, it conveys a great sense of action.
its time to kick the tyres and light the fires

Great shots in blue skies beats anything we've had in the UK yet this year!
Heard a rumour about a Birthday Bash on April 1st, but I guess that was an early joke?
