The last airshow (for Me) Southport

Post by ianf »

Hi went to my last airshow for this year, which happenend to be my local one, namely southport. We had mixed weather, but not bad for late september. The show felt slightly emptier in terms of acts and definnitly missed the pyro's of recent years. That said it was an enjoyable afternoon.
Before the "proper" acts came on  I tried again at getting the crossover, one day I will do it!

Apparently this was the last ever team guinot display  their future is uncertain, I hope they come back in some form as they are one of the better civilian acts on the circuit. and was one of the highlights of today because of the local comentator who was a bit excited with the young ladies on the wing

Team swift used the beach to start the display from.

Another highlight the catalina.

The seafire/seahawk formation wasn't as tight as I would like but good to see all the same.

And finally the undisputed star of the show as she has been all year! I saw her first display of the year at cosford, and I have seen her about 13 times since and she still sends a shiver down my spine! :vulcan:

This picture really requires sound as this is the last howl of the year!

Possibly it was one of her tamer displays but as said else were she stops the crowd whenever she appears, the amount of folk who stayed back to see her, tells it's own tale, she needs a successful and early start to the fundraising no last minute panics please this year!

Thanks for looking

Hi,
Glad you had a good day yesterday, glad you saw the Merlin, which went tech on the Saturday, when I was there!
Good effort on the Reds crossover shot, although I do like the 'Tunnel' Reds shot!

Favourite shot is the 2nd Vulcan shot, also like the Typhoon shots

Ty guys for the comments, micky I was with steve on sunday so knew you wern't well, so see you soon I hope. Neil I've done 12 shows this year, but if your asking how many times have I tried to get that shot this year. Then the answer is once, I rarely point my camera at the reds! and your right on which one I followed. It doesn't matter though its only a red shot
