Magnificent La Ferté Alais - Historics now added

Post by Vixen1 »

Shame I missed the Duxford show but here's something dirrerent.

Just back from my first visit to La Ferté. What a venue. Took too may pictures and got rather sunburned despite the factor 30. I'll post the lovely older stuff separately later in the week.

Good to meet Hew and the gang. Thanks to Steve for the company.

Nice pics! Too bad I couldn't make it this year... Did the A400M also fly? I was surprised but I think I've seen a pic somewhere on the net from La Ferté...

'Doogie' - It did fly, I'd sort of forgotton because it was rather too high and not that impressive. Thanks for the comments. Here you go:-

I've never been before but really enjoyed it. Friendly, no rip-off prices and great weather too.

No... we got a surprise two passes from two Mirages on Saturday morning. My camera was still in the bag on the first one, this was from the second pass and I turned my zoom the wrong way and thought it was stuck (new lens) and lashed it up. :dizzy: Thanks for the comment.

Superb shots! I love that Rafale tail, I saw it at Coningsby a few weeks ago - hopefully that's the jet we'll get to see at RIAT.

That's if they get the Rafale fixed. It only had 1 burner working part way through the display. Sunday saw a different Rafale but that too lost a burner and aborted. (possible design fault ?)

Kippoid,

Yep, it did appear to have a few problems, but what a great show! The French sure know how to put on an Airshow!

Best wishes

Great set of photos-I was there too on the Saturday but with only my old point and shoot camera.
It is one of the very best air shows especially if you like pre-first www aircraft, through www 1 www 2 etc german french british russian japanese and american etc not only static but being flown around the sky and the silver p 39 lightning was simply stunning
A brilliant show
