Waddington - the non-DSLR perspective

Waddington - the non-DSLR perspective

Postby Arthur Tee on Wed 04 Jul 2012, 8:36 pm

No Bigmas for me! Here’s a few of my non-DSLR efforts taken on Saturday.
I’ve only had this camera about 3 months – so still getting to grips with it.

Comments & Criticism Welcome…

Couldn’t help humming the Italian National Anthem to myself whilst shooting these – brilliant!

Good shots, well done.

With the way superzooms keep developing, I suspect there may be a lot more "non-DSLR" photography appearing here within a year or two. I'm still getting to grips with my own non-DSLR (Panasonic FZ150) - and while I wouldn't claim it beats a DSLR for pure image quality, I'm more than happy with the results I'm getting... and given the size/weight/cost/movie/convenience advantages - I've already sold off most of my DSLR gear.

It's not that I couldn't afford a DSLR - more like I couldn't be bothered changing lenses!

Still - can't use that excuse of dust on the sensor though...

The main thing Arthur is that you are happy with your photos, but for my eyes these are either far too tightly cropped or over-sharpened making them very pixelated... sorry!! :hide:

Beefy - you're spot on! I Sharpened - then resized rather than Resized - then Sharpened!

One of these days I'll get it right...

If you're using Photoshop, then either way - are you using Unsharp Mask? If so, perhaps pay close attention to the "threshold", to avoid "pixellation" in the areas of solid colour, due to noise in those areas being sharpened equally.
