La Ferte Alais airshow 14 & 15-05-2016

Thoroughly enjoyed my two day at he La Ferte Alais air show just south west of Pairs.

I got the impression that for high energy manoeuvres (loops and rolls) including military and civil, the aircraft fly just as high compared to the regulations in the UK. The big differences, and, the ones that really matters to photographers, is that they came lower for a top side pass but most importantly they are much closer the crowd line including the French military aircraft.

A 100-400 mm lens on a 1.6 crop camera for top side is fine at his show

The ferry from Dover to Calais was late by forty minutes so here was no hurry which is just as well as two of my friends who arrived at Dover by car found that he multi story car park as closed. It looked like the car park was crumbling or subsiding and with nowhere else to park so they walked in a police station who advised them where they could park. It was only a small detour in my driving to pick them up but we ended up missing he ferry anyway so got the later one near 1.00 am

We were at the gates the aifield at about 8.00am central European time still with plenty of space on the crowd line. Afterwoods it as to the hotel for an overnight rest then back to he show for the second day, this just 7.00 and we positioned ourselves a bit further up the runway so that we were in a good position to photo those aircraft that lifted off a bit earlier than the others during their take of runs

Saturday was mostly dull with a couple bright spells . Sunday was much brighter with some sunny spells. The show was also my first chance first use my new 80D camera. The images come out much cleaner, less noisy in the shadows and a good upgrade from my old 7d

We caught the midnight ferry home froM Calais on Sunday and I was home by 3.30 am Monday.

Thank for looking. Pics in no particular order.

There's some lovely aircraft at this one isn't there?

You do realise there is someone falling out of an aircraft in one of these don't you?
