Omaka Classic fighters (Very Heavy)

Not many better spots to have an airshow - not too shabby a line up too

Merged your two threads Andy - one thread per show.

Looks incredible, superb and unique collection of stuff too. Some really fine shots here.

Some lovely stuff there, and the light looks pretty good too!

A few shots do look a little soft though.

A knockout set of images! Your panning technique is excellent and far superior to my efforts at the recent Wanaka air show. For a museum piece such as the 20D (not an insult, I use a 40D   ), the signal-to-noise ratio is excellent; very little noise evident, even in the dark areas of your low-light images. I hope to attend this event next year. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,

..all the above comments & I'll add that the crowd-line looks a bit closer than we are used too over here- fingers crossed. I'll also note comments some years from neighbour - ex WW2 RAAF navigator, who started off in doing anti-sub patrols along south east Oz coast in Ansons, he said they were all relieved when they got Beauforts, as they could hold usually altitude on one engine, while the Avro Annies were getting on a bit & they were always relieved to go "feet dry" on the way home. cheers, ronoz

The backdrop and cloud formations really do make this an easy on the eye thread! Very nice indeed!

Still haven't caught a show there, but spent 3 fantastic afternoons at Omaka. Possible the friendliest place to look at and talk about aircraft, that I have come across. Even manged a look around the inside of the Anson with the very kind permission of Mr Reid (owner) and Mr Saunders (has the hangar full of gems  )

Another set of crackers but the head on Annie wins it for me, or maybe the Harvard heading towards the valley.......

The show will have to wait a while, as I can never get away from the business at Easter, but I'm back down under next Winter for my 4th go at Godzone......got a few targets in Oz as well

You'll be wanting Wings Over Wairarapa then :-)

Again very good Andy, where are you based?

These are from different years, good that the JEM team have been given the go-ahead to fix up the FW-190 for 2019 (ground loop due to brake failure at 2015 event).
