Oshkosh AirVenture 2018 - more photos added 21 August
I'm another member of this parish that made the trip, my first, to Oshkosh in mid July. Just fantastic, from the range and number of aircraft to the hassle-free entrance and exit each day. As I've arrived a bit late to this party, this thread is primarily to illustrate the range of genre of aircraft that you can expect to see. Enough guff, here we go:

I 'd never seen a Ford Tri-Motor before - there were two flying all day every day providing pleasure flights around the airfield.

One of the themes was the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Harvard/Texan. There must have been 50 of them on the airfield in a huge range of markings and colours. Just one for now.

On the Wednesday we stayed for the night time display - only for it to be rained off. We were on our way back to the car in the rain when we heard the roar from the Bone. Crappy photo, taken from at least half a mile away in awful conditions so excuse the poor quality of this.

I also took the opportunity to do a flight in this beauty - a great and humbling experience, and fantastic with it.

Well done and thank you if you've made it to the end . Something for everyone I think you'll agree. More will (eventually) go onto my Flickr account.

Great pics
I'm glad somebody got at shot of the B-1 departure show, it looked (to coin and American phrase) Awesome! Full reheat set against the oncoming thunderstorms. I was too busy legging it back to the campsite before I got truly soaked and nearly missed altogether!

Love that F16 departure shot and I'm glad you caught the F16 with the Skyraider and Mustang, I was just getting back from the Seaplane base when they were displaying and didn't get any decent photos of them!
Re: Oshkosh AirVenture 2018
I saw a large number of different Harvard's/Texan's during the years that I was there but not that one. Would like to see some more when you can manage it.
I agree about the seaplane base, it's beautiful there.

There was a downpour one year that I was there when I managed to get back to the bus pickup just before it started and back to the uni. by which time it was almost over. I rested up for a spell then it was back on the bus and back to the field by which time the sun was out again!

Absolutely cracking post - appreciate any photos being posted from Oshkosh - definitely on my bucket list , might have to consider giving RIAT a miss at some point and spending my money on a trip to Oshkosh instead

Thanks for the comments guys.
Alex - I'll get some more Harvard/Texan pics soon.
George - the flight was $409 to EAA members and $449 to non-members so I joined the EAA for one year for $40! It also meant I got a small reduction of a dollar or so on admission tickets (I bought six) and saved another dollar or so on a couple of t-shirts so it self-funded.

Re: Oshkosh AirVenture 2018 - more photos added 21 August
Excellent images, Andy. I thoroughly enjoyed viewing them all. I will echo others' sentiments about the B-17 and Tri-motor rides. A mate bought a ticket for the B-17 on our first visit and still talks about the experience. I decided to take a flight in the Tri- and was not disappointed. For something that resembles a flying shed, it has a lot of get-up 'n' go. Highly recommended. Heading over again in 2019.

Many thanks! I've photos of 8 of those Harvard's/Texan's all taken at Oshkosh except for N565JII/AJ958 which I saw at Midland Tx. in 2008, although at that time she was registered N99CV.

I'm full of envy! One year that I was there I got talking to an American chap who asked me 'don't you have air shows in the UK?', to which I replied 'of course we do, but nothing anything like this!'
