RAF Cosford 2019 - Show Day Photos Added

Post by Tonka 617 »

A dull and gloomy afternoon at Cosford

Appearances from the German Orion, Swiss Hornet and Alca pair - big shame the Gripen didn't get a chance to rehearse , the light came good towards the end of the day - a drone sighting put pay to flying for a lengthy period of time

Very Nice, you managed to deal with the poor light extremely well

Thanks for the photos.
Concerning to hear that drones have disrupted the flying display. Whether they are over enthusiastic or maliscious (political or environmental) it needs to be stamped out somehow. Airports, Airshows .. what`s next … RAF operational airfield, QRA Operations
I know its easier said than done but it cant be beyond the wit of man to do something about it.

some stunners here  , the Hornet burner shot is pretty hot ! :worship: . I have noticed on virtually everyone's photos of the typhoon including mine , that the cockpit at certain angles seems to be out of focus, but the plane is sharp, so it cant be, does that mean it has some sort of reflective coating on it

Great photos here, were they taken inside the showground or outside?

Thanks
Martin

I was at Albrighton Football Club for these - I thought with how the light can play havoc with photographing inside Cosford, to stay outside this year

Well it certainly paid off for you mate these are excellent. My favourite is the f18 but there are some real good pictures here. What lens were you using if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks
Martin

Lovely set from the weekend. Great to meet you too, we were the two in the car in front!

These taken from the cricket club or the bowling club, can't find a football club in the area.

Cheers,

Tom

Yes, its not a bad vantage point at all. Lens is a Sigma 150-600 Sport on a D500

Ah, always nice to meet others from here :) good to meet you both also - still a shame we didn't get the Gripen rehearsal on Saturday, the light came good near the end

Ah yes, Bowling Club - I only saw it as Football club from speaking to them on Facebook, but I believe it is both Bowling and Football.

Thanks for your reply, I have been looking at buying the 150-600mm for a little while and these have definitely swayed favour in getting one. I may have to think about going to the bowling club next year as although it was good from inside, there are just so many ignorant people inside who like to push in front, also alot of people that seemed to like standing on our bags and personal belongings this year.
