Cosford 2019 Highlights

Post by Tmyers123 »

Today was my first time at Cosford, and it was a good one. The light was challenging to say the least in the morning and the early afternoon, but in the last couple of hours the light was lovely and really helped with photography.

The Gripen and the Hornet were superb as per, the former wearing its stunning NTM 2018 scheme. Whilst seeming a little distant, the 2019 Typhoon display was enjoyable and looking forward to seeing it in the new livery (hopefully) at RIAT.

It was also my first show with the new Sigma 100-400mm lens. After previously using a Canon 55-250mm, it felt a lot easier with the extra reach and i'm really happy with my results from today.

But as always, comments and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I agree about the lighting, but as you say created some great backgrounds for some of the brighter coloured display pieces !. Great set by the way.

A nice set there Tyler, particularly like the 2nd Orion shot.

If anything, personally I would lighten up on the shadows slider on the first Hornet shot, to try and get more light around the cockpit, also mess around with the brightness slider a bit. But that's purely out of personal taste more than anything.

That Sigma 100-400mm looks like a nice buy, well done :-)

Cheers, I’ll keep that in mind.

Yep, I’ve loved the new Sigma so far, looking forward to using it at RIAT.
