A windy Wednesday in Lincs

Post by iaint »

Decided on a trip to Lincolnshire on Wednesday 19th with the aim of catching a day of the Volcanex and Cobra Warrior visitors, whilst also the opportunity to see some of the new RAF training aircraft elsewhere in the county.
Unfortunately Ali had other ideas and put paid to those plans... :tumbleweed:

Barkston Heath and Cranwell were both devoid of any aircraft, so the first true stop was at Waddington for the Italians and catching the sicknote Phenom.

Arrived at Coningsby shortly after 1030 to find some of the based Typhoons that had been up early doors had only just just recovered, signalling what turned out to be the cease of operations for the day. Only took a few photos of the visiting Tornados.

A bit of a let down of a day, but then that's the joy of a day spotting

Great too see some Euro Stuff back in the UK. Reminds me of the Waddo Exercises all those year back.
Cheers

Interesting shot of the (very) broken Phenom.

Wonder if all those red tape markings are where the other one hit him if the rumours are to be believed

It looks like most of those bits of tape are to prevent water ingress since it was destined to outside for some time.
