Mildenhall yesterday evening...

Mildenhall yesterday evening...

Postby Mad Dan on Tue 07 Oct 2008, 8:00 am

They let me out for a few minutes last night, so I ventured across to Mildenhall... The light was absolutely awful by the time this beast drifted in and it was very low on final approach. In fact, it was so low that it was below the fence line as it passed the field at Pollards Lane. What with that and the poor light, I doubt if anyone got anything half decent. This should confirm just how gloomy it was...it was like gazing at searchlights!!!

No, fair question, but your aircraft recognition needs sharpening up

Its a NASA Martin (General Dynamics) WB-57F, a steroid taking development of the Canberra design with huge wings and TF33 engines.

Thanks to Capercaillie for spelling it out.

Yes - but it seems to be a bit like buses. You wait for ages - and then two of them come along almost at once!

(Well, a couple of days apart...if all goes according to plan...)
