TLP Florennes 01-09-2008

Post by planekees »

Just back from a visit to the TLP at Florennes. The weather wasn't great (What's new this year?) but at least it was dry for most of the day.

There's something funny with my pictures, at least on my screen. A portion of the right side of each shot seems to be missing!
I can't find out what I've done wrong, all the shots are 800X546 just as I always posted them on the "old-style" website. Maybe one of the moderators can advise me. Can't fix it today anyhow because I will have to log out in a few minutes time.

I found that by changing my monitor resolution from 1024x768 to 1152x864 cured the problem of cropped images. hope that helps.

They look good even without the sun Darren, your journey was not a waste of time by these results.

Thanks for your comments guys. I understand the problem of the monitor resolution now. A friend of mine pointed out to me that a lot of people are having trouble with this and that it's quite an issue on UKAR at the moment. I'm sorry I wasn't aware of this earlier, then I wouldn't have posted my first reply.

Not many TLPs to go at Florennes now I suspect? A good variety of aircraft there and Belgium seems to be having the lovely weather that we are having!

I also can't help but make a comparison between the 'corporate logo' on the 111 Sqn F.3 and the way national identity is portrayed on the Mirage 2000s. I appreciate all the arguments as to why etc. but to me an aircraft carrying a set of squadron markings along with a subtle 'Royal Air Force' title would look far better than that hideous sticker which, in my opinion, just makes the aircraft look shabby.

Nice Union Flag on the Spangdahlem F-16 as well!

Cheers, Tom
