Low Level in the Lakes - Lanty Scar

Post by Monty »

My brother, my dad and I went up to the lakes for a couple of days this week. Decided to try and catch some low level flying whilst we were there and decided to try our luck on Tuesday the 28th. Had a reasonable first experience of low level with a herc, a FRA Falcon and 5 tucanoes. Unfortunately a typhoon decided to use the valley on the opposite side of Lanty Scar and an Hour after we left we heard a jet go up the valley we had been overlooking  . It was mightily cold and at times we had snow showers!! Anyway here are my pictures.

The Falcon chickened out and decided to cut over our heads, think it was because he saw the show shower that had completely encompassed the valley beyond us

And finally some Tucanoes

Nice catch Monty.
I wasted the day after you, saw nothing and got soaked.
Like the Tucano shots with the Autumnal trees, shame the light conditions wern't more favourable.

Great stuff Monty...Tough light in the winter but if you can catch some high pressure days...clear air and blue skies...superb...I like your Tuc shots too showing of the autumnal colours...Glad you had an enjoyable day out my friend.
Cheers,
Neil.

Which end of Windermere were you - spent the next to last week in August nr Ambleside - got a Harrier and a Tucano over the town and a FRA Falcon as we were half way up to Styckle Tarn in the Langdales.
