Beautifully sharp, stunning light and well captured. Looks like the 48th put on a great show as well.

Why has 01-2002 got highlighted tailcode but a seemingly normal serial? I remember back in 1994 a number of LN eagles wore highlighted tailcode and serial for seemingly no reason. Looks great whatever the reason.

Thanks for posting - the topside of '178 gets my overall vote for top shot.

01-2002 was marked up with 494FS on the tail that's why it has the highlighted LN. It has something else written near the bottom of the tail now by the look of it.

Great captures, in fantastic conditions. 01-2002 is the 494th Figther Squadrons Boss bird. It looks like the paint shop have revirted back to large serial presentation with a small 494 FS at the base of the fin. Here it is back in 2007 showing the orginal markings, which I prefer.

They've also re-painted the serials on F-15C '84 027' with '493FS' now in small writing on the base of the fin. (see other set of photos by yorkie_pete in modern military photography section).
