Nigel ,great shots as usual!
were you the chap with camo lens hood in John's field today? (Black car?)
I was one of the two chaps in the silver SEAT (Galaxy type) people carrier ,that tended to stick to the left side of John's trailer.
Long day for us , but ultimately worth the trip.( hopefully my buddy will post up his camcorder footage soon)
Ps. I thought I recognised the chap in the green rover today too ?

I would have come and said hello , but was rather intimidated by your dark glasses and huge lens.

A few more from last evenings activity, challenging light and windy conditions along with slow shutter and high ISO, I binned a lot!
They took of at 18:45, and I left at about 20:00 while they were still in the air!

i believe that was not Nigel Blake, this chap is know as the Marham tramp, as stated before possibly the fartiest tramp in the UK. Nigel Blake is a kind slim church going person not like this oversatched halfwit. if the photo attached is the same guy, beware as he always makes out his car has a flat battery then nicks your satch!!!

Nice you've even got the sun setting under the KC 135 , could you not have made the osprey shots more interesting by pulling in the Sun , moon and perhapse a space shuttle launching in the background ? LOL see you soon i hopes .lonewolf

Nice detail captured on those Ospreys Nigel and number three looks like you used a very slow shutter speed to good effect.
If I'd known you were there on Thurs last, I'd have come and asked you where to look for a Stone Curlew (I couldn't see one anywhere).
Cheers, Bob.

Many thanks Bob and Roger
There are a few Stone Curlews in now, you can see them on the grass at the 24 end at Lakenheath from the spotters car park, they nest on the base; but Weeting heath is the best bet, especially now (and throughout April) while the grass is really short, as they have no cover!
