Spent a sad morning at Lyneham where, after over 40 years, the sound of the C130 will no longer echo through the countryside. Such a shame that an incredible airfield is being abandoned, especially as it's one of the few airfields in the UK that has almost total support from the local community. This was displayed by the number of people that came out into the streets of surrounding towns to say goodbye. Special thanks for the crew of ZH865 who kept it low down the runway on departure.
Heathaze was a real pain all morning, but I'm glad I managed to get there to see the end of an era

Re: Farewell Fat Albert - 1st July
Unfortunately a massive amount of community support was lost because of some officer's decision not to send the flypast over Swindon. A truly naive decision which has actually angered a lot of the locals around here.
Nice set, wish I could have been there for one last blast!
